Down the homestretch of the Fall Run

If your bass and blues is your thing, by boat by beach, on light tackle or 50 test braid on your beast rod, this is the best time of year. There's those spring gorillas off Long Beach, those August bunker pods off moriches, that June moon in Montauk, but this time of year. When you're heading out and the dream of an epic is so real... it gets any angler's heart pumping.

It's not too cold, it's not too windy, they might bite on a tide you don't think they would like. Not saying it that as a tough guy salty wannabe, I'm saying it as a guy that's many a winter weekend in past years have wanted to punch myself in the face for not taking a few extra shots.

The Captains the will get you on the bite:

NYC/Brooklyn

Captain Vinny Vetere/Katfish Charters.

http://www.katfishsportfishing.com/

It's an early morning to do a trip with Captain Vinny and it's well worth it. I've fished with Vinny a good number of times, one day in particular I'll never forget when he got me on the winning fish in the 2015 Manhattan Cup. Livelining, and trolling for BIG bass in the rivers, NY Harbor, and around the NY BIGHT.

Captain Frank Crescitelli/Finchaser Charters

http://www.finchaser.com/

Buddy Davis 28' is one of the sickest rides around town for chasing bass by the Statue to Breezy Point. Pick up and drop off available from Chelsea Piers and Pier 25. You can't beat getting a slob with the city lights behind you. Fly/Light tackle available

Captain Rich Colombo/Rockfish Charters

http://rockfishcharters.com

Just heard a guy yesterday that knows what he's talking about describe Rich as the youngest and the best in Sheepshead Bay. 6 pack charters for day trips with very few fall dates left open. Bass/Tog combos or just bass trips. Trolling, chunking, live lining for slobs on solid yet fair fight tackle.

If you're after light tackle action...

Captain John McMurray/One Last Cast

http://www.nycflyfishing.com/

Chasing birds with a guy that gets as fired up as John is a great time on the

water.

Captain Brendan McCarthy/Urbay Fly Guide

Another guy with exceptional local knowledge of Jamaica Bay and lower NY harbor spots

Don't hesitate to reach out if these guys are booked or you're looking for a trip in the Western Sound or South Shore of Long Island. I have plenty of captains I can set something up with for you.

Tight Lines all!
